Halloween 2011

About a month ago, I asked Ian what he wanted to be for Halloween this year.  He said, "I am gonna be Batman and Daddy is gonna be Superman."

There you have it!
The king had ruled...Superheroes it was going to be this year!

And even though we didn't follow his recommendation exactly to the tee, I think we came up with a pretty good end result.  What do you think?

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins...

We picked 'em, we celebrated 'em, and then we carved 'em up.
What more can I say?

Ian LOVES riding the tractors at the pumpkin patch!!

Ian was a great pumpkin picker!

"Hey!  He's touching me!!"

"Uhhh...still touching me!"
"I don't know about this?!?!" =)

Steph was REALLY sad she was already married because she really wanted to go home with THIS guy!!

Love this picture of the cute Creager's

Just before going to the pumpkin patch, we visited a "Pumpkin Festival" being held at a park near our house. Ian had a great time there with his cousin Brady!

Riding the train,

climbing up the inflatable slides,

and just running wild!

I love this picture of Mason and my parents.  Look at that little face!!

A few days after we picked the cream of the crop, we attended a "carving party" held at the home of Mike's cousin Jamie and her husband John.  They layed out plastic sheeting on the living room floor and we went to town carving up our jack-o-lantern masterpieces!

The end result...

And one last special detail to add before I wrap up our pumpkin tales...

Every fall, since 2007 (the first year we lived here), Mike and I have gone to the same pumpkin patch near our home to pick out our Halloween pumpkins.

The first year, it was just the two of us.

In 2008, we had Hayden.

In 2009, our precious Ian.

2010 was a special year because Ian was finally OURS!!!

This year, we had little Mason.

Three years,
three different baby boys,
one tiny shirt.

I wonder if we'll have somebody new with us to wear it in 2012?

Happy Halloween!

We had quite the fun Halloween weekend here at our house this year!

As you may already know, most people in our area celebrated Halloween on Saturday this year, so we did too.  We had a bunch of our friends and neighbors come over early and we had a delicious chili/soup dinner.  Then we donned our costumes and went trick-or-teating.

Our little family went as "Duck, Duck, Goose".

I don't know about you, but that is definitely THE cutest little duck I have ever seen!  The big duck wasn't half bad either - just look at those orange legs!=)

Mike's Mom had come over to have dinner with us and she graciously offered to stay and pass out candy so that both Mike and I could go trick-or-treating with Ian.
I am so glad she did because we had SO much fun!!  Ian looked so cute in his little costume, and he wanted to walk on his own the whole way.

He ran up to every door and would knock on it until someone answered, all the while yelling, "Trit-Treat" over and over!!  He then had to inspect every piece of candy, many of which were eaten along the way=)

Mike's cousin Jamie, her husband John, and their two little girls came with us.  How cute are they?

We didn't get very far, because it started to rain, but we still got a bunch of candy and had a great time nonetheless.  It was so wonderful for me and Mike to be able to watch the excitement and joy in Ian's little face.  He makes our holidays so much more fun!!  (I can't wait for Christmas!)

Then on Sunday, we had my family over for our annual Halloween party.  We had homemade spaghetti, salad, delicious homemade rolls, and tons of yummy desserts.

My brother David and Hollie as Salt and Pepper.
My Papa.
My Mama - don't you love her new hair and dental work?=)
My sister Jamie and her husband Billy as a couple from the fifties.
Parker as Dracula.
Brady bug as Elmo.
Sean also trying to be Elmo=)
Liam as a frog.
Zack as a hippie.
My baby duckie=)
Cowgirl Karly

(I didn't get a picture of Karly with my camera, so I made her send me a copy of this picture she took of herself - probably for her boyfriend!  Love Ya Karly!!=)

We had a great time, but I was also glad when two nights of partying hard were over and done with!  Man, I am getting old=)

Happy Halloween everyone!
