I'd like to tell you a story about a very sweet little boy named Za-Za.
His real name is Zack, but to Ian, he is Za-Za (Even though Ian can say Zack now, he will probably always be Za-Za=)
He is 10 and is my sister Jamie's oldest son.
He is sweet, funny, and Ian loves him like nobody else on this earth.
Last Friday, Ian and I were hanging out at Jamie's house while Mike was running Ragnar. We were trying to kill time away from home while our carpets dried from having just been cleaned. After lunch, Jamie said she needed to go to Zack's school for a minute. They were having an Open House for the parents to come in and see the projects the students had recently been working on. She asked if we wanted to come too and Ian answered "YES!" for us both.
Zack's class had been learning about the different counties in Utah and each child was assigned a different county. They then decorated a shoe box with different things to symbolize their assigned county. They also had a white, blank book that they filled with information about all of the different counties.
We walked into Zack's classroom and found the kids sitting at their desks in a semi-circle around the outside of the room. The parents walked around all the desks to ooh and ahh over all the different projects. Ian got really excited when he saw his Za-Za and in his usual sweet way, Zack fawned all over Ian too.
My sister was admiring Zack's project and book as me and my Mom looked at some of the others. Just then, Jamie turned around with Zack's book in her hand, and tears in her eyes. My first thought was, "Whoa sissy! It's just Utah County!" =) But then she passed me the book and I saw what Zack had written just inside the front cover.
Now you can see why we all love Za-Za so much.
(That and what he had written inside the back cover=)
"Meet the Author.
I live in San Diego, California.
My favorite part is the ocean.
I have friends.
Some of them are people you might know.

Sweet, funny, and pretty darn cute to boot - what a combination!
I Love you Za-Za!!!!!
