The Dirty Dash

Last weekend, Mike and I, along with several of our friends and neighbors, participated in what was probably THE funnest race I have ever been part of - The Dirty Dash.

Mike ran in the inaugural 10K Dirty Dash race last year, and when he told me about it, I thought he was crazy

And then I watched it.

My mind did a complete 180 and I could not wait to sign up this year!

So Mike and I organized a team for the 5K race this year, and it could not have turned out any better. We had 10 people on our team, plus several others who came to support us and cheer us on.  Plus, we decided to make a whole "adults only" weekend out of it and we spent the weekend at my parents cabin.
What can be better than sun, mountains, laughter, friends, food, and a little dirtiness?!?!?!

We seriously have the greatest friends and I honestly don't think a better time could have been had!!!

Pre-Race - Nice and Clean=)

Umm, Shanae?
You were in charge of my camera, so why is there a close up of Mike's butt in there?=)

The Honey Bucket's.  Hey...maybe that should be our team name next year!

Thanks to everybody who helped make this race possible and especially to all of our dirty friends who made this one of the funnest weekends ever!!! I am already counting down the days to next year's "dirty weekend"!!!

"Walk With Me"

As many of you may already know, November is National Adoption Month, and to celebrate, there are many fun and exciting events going on around our town this month.

Last Saturday was the 5th Annual "Adoption Walk With Me" 5K fun run and walk at Liberty Park.  This event is sponsored by Families Supporting Adoption, as a way to raise awareness and put a positive face on adoption in our community.

This was our little family's first year participating, but I think it is safe to say that it WON'T be our last!

We really had a great time and met some amazing and incredible people.  I even ran some of it alongside hubby!!  I know, I know...he is an inspiration=)

There was also a prize given for wearing the most orange, and can you guess who won?  That's right - the "run2100" orange family!!  We won tickets to an upcoming symphony.  Woohoo - date night here we come=)

We are in the back talking with our new friend Dave Williams from Act of Love Adoption Agency.

The Dirty Dash

Last Saturday, my hubby participated in a 10K run called "The Dirty Dash".  It was 6.2 miles of running through mud with obstacles along the way.

I was on baby duty, so Ian and I stood by and cheered them on.  Let's just say that next year I am getting  a sitter!!  They had SO much fun, and I can't wait to join in next year.

I just laughed all over again reading Mike's blog post about it and looking at the crazy pictures.  Make sure you check it out=)
